![]() ![]() Ancient people believed that underneath the earth, a large Torterra dwelled. Groups of migrating Torterra have been mistaken as moving forests. Occasionally, small Pokémon gather in the tree on its back and spend their whole life there. It appears to be based on Ankylosaurus, but it is actually a turtle, and it is also based on the common myth of the World Turtle. They say each Grotle that lives in the forest has its own secret springwater since they know where pure water wells up at. The fruit that grows on the shrubs on its shell is sweet, nutritious, and truly delicious. Its shell is hardened soil, though sometimes bird Pokémon like to live on its back and peck at the berries growing on it. It lives along water in the forest and it sometimes leaves the forest to sunbathe. It becomes more energetic the more sunlight there is. If it is thirsty, the leaves on its head start to wilt. It uses photosynthesis across its whole body, making oxygen in the process. On a very healthy Turtwig, its shell should feel slightly damp and warm to the touch.
